Today’s plan – a version of Tuesday’s CFE WOD and running workout.  Run a timed 1 mile followed by 10 minute rest.  Then repeat that pace or better for 3 X 400m.  This is good practice for the upcoming winter headlamp run from Planet Adventure on the 16th.

1 mile TT  – 7:41
400m -  1:55, 1:47, 1:49

Didn’t have the equipment to do the heavy thrusters listed, but did 8 X 40lb thrusters on the minute for 10 minutes.  Followed by timed 50 push-ups (not fast… but a measurable starting point to improve from).  50 push-ups: 1:34

Workout called for 100, but I don’t have that kind of time – Ha.

Rest day (active rest) – very sore abs, so I only did some little stuff at home – nothing crazy.

1 X 60sec in squat position, followed by 8×20sec in squat, 10sec rest/standing.
Mixed barefoot jump rope practice… that’s enough.

Clean and not-so mini mini-metcon.  Up to 165lb.  Lost the mini to team-Kurt/Doug.  3 rounds of 1000m row, 30 box jumps, 20 burpees.

Barbara to start the year off.  Five rounds of 20 pull-ups, 30 push-ups, 40 sit-ups, 50 squats.  Three minute rest between each.

Results – 3:55, 5:15, 7:10, 8:05, 9:20

Also, day one of working in some CrossFit Endurance workouts.  Did the 01/01 biking tabata workout – 30:20 for 8 rounds on highest resistance.

Active Rest Today

Planning a short run to loosen up my stiff legs, but nothing more.  Two days of hard workouts in a row and I want to make it in Thursday since I’ll be out of town Fri/Sat.  Being back on paleo feels great and I’m excited about seeing significant gains again, which I haven’t had for a bit.

Results:  24:44 (w/ running instead of the row, which was probably a bad idea)

Also, back to a more paleo-like diet starting today.  Goal of keeping with it until the adventure race on Nov 14th.

700! – Back Squat 270 (PR), Press 125, Deadlift 305.  Obviously need some work on deadlift.
